Café Abrate

Via Po, 10, Torino, 10123 TO, Italia

Caffè confetteria Abrate

Dal 1866

Casanova mentions it in his Memoirs. Risorgimento statesmen
and ministers like Rattazzi, Lamarmora and Depretis used to come here. From 1852 to 1861, Camillo Benso Count of Cavour, president of the Cabinet Council of the Kingdom of Savoy, made history at these tables and was immortalised in an allegory together with his trusted Costantino Nigra. Mario Soldati paid a tribute of affection in a short story and in a novel. Now beautifully restored with a modern touch, guests are welcomed by its splendid historic Risorgimento hall, its new rooms with the works of great contemporary artists and the new gourmet boutique in the ancient former pharmacy next door. The best in cuisine.
