Caffè Milano

Dal 1896

In his Italian diaries, Hermann Hesse writes about how he
enjoyed his cup of coffee at a table in the sun, in 1913. It is said
that Mussolini used to come here in 1915 while convalescing in
hospital in Treviglio after being wounded at the beginning of the
First World War. The traditional meeting place for smart society in
Treviglio, opposite the Basilica of San Martino in the main square,
it is a real gem with counters and original early-twentiethcentury
furniture and a room with Viennese chairs and little iron and
marble tables. The realm of exquisite patisserie, it was here that
the “Turta de Treì”, a symbol of Treviglio, was created.
