Starting from the thirties, the genuine cappuccino has always
been served at the Caffè Reggio, the most famous and oldest
Greenwich Village haunt frequented by the Italian celebrities of
New York and the great American artists. The interior is decorated
by an unique coffee machine bearing the date 1902 and many
valuable paintings from the fifteenth and seventeenth century. The
poetess Edna St. Vincent Millay was often seen here with her
notebook and also Al Pacino who was studying how to become the
