Ristorante Da Berti

Dal 1866

The nineteenth century ‘Thieves Inn’, once the haunt of
highwaymen, is the last of the authentic Milanese inns situated
on the outskirts of the city. Its walls are in ‘Maria Teresa d’Austria’
yellow, and it has a centuries-old garden with pergola where the
artists Treccani and Veronesi would come to paint; the great hall
with a fireplace loved by Biagi, Castellaneta, the sculptor
Minguzzi and the Nobel laureate Levi Montalcini; the room with
rare labels, the room with the Liebig collection, and the
astonishing wine cellars. The walls bear original proclamations
and notifications signed by General Radetzky. On the tables is
one of the finest menus in the capital of Lombardy.
