After a contentious meeting at the university on 20 January 1914, during which they accused the cultural circles of Bologna of being “professiorial mould”, Marinetti, Balla, Russolo, Boccioni and Carrà, the life and soul of Futurism, gathered here to sort things out and talk of duels. A luxurious monument to hospitality, in a former Archiepiscopal Seminary with marbles and stuccoes that has welcomed Sinatra and Ava Gardner, kings and queens, the Savoys, Lady Diana and Sophia Loren. Splendid sixteenth-century frescoes with Stories of Europe by the Carraccis adorn the coffered ceiling of the “Camerino di Europa” hall, and “The Four Seasons” that of the elegant Ristorante I Carracci.
