Heir to the ancient Albergo dello Scudo di Francia, in a noble fifteenth-century palazzo. When Florence was the capital of the Kingdom of Italy from 1865 to 1871, it was the Hotel Parlamento and home to deputies and senators, who were just round the corner from the Chamber and Senate in the Palazzo Vecchio. Very elegant, it still preserves the beautiful “Parliament Hall”, frescoed with portraits of the protagonists of the Italian Risorgimento, which was where politicians would continue their discussions.
Fascinating the rooms and the Hall, on the walls of which we can find polychrome plaster heads with eccentric headgears dating back to the end of the 19th century, when there was a millinery shop where hats and accessories for ladies were made and sold
