In 1515, the Osteria was already an institution when the battle of Marignano was fought close by, paving the way for the French occupation of Lombardy. General Radetzky requisitioned it for his troops in 1848, at the height of the Five Days of Milan. Together with the list of landlords who have owned it since 1706, the Rampina has maintained all the charm of an ancient Lombard farmstead and all the delights of its traditional dishes.
