This elegant beer house was founded by the Austrian master brewer Otto Wipflinger, who was the first to produce, import, distribute and make known Austrian and German beers in Italy, serving them with Tyrolean dishes. In the fifteenth-century Palazzetto Navarrini Wipflinger, it is now run by the fifth generation of the founder’s family. All the great names of Italian cultural and intellectual life from the proclamation of the Kingdom to the present day have enjoyed its cuisine in the delicately revisited Liberty-style rooms, with their frescoed ceilings, wall panelling, marbles, mirrors and Thonet chairs.
