‘Stay but a moment, o passer-by, if from Gambrinus you wish to
depart contented’ read the huge nineteenth-century sign on the
façade of the inn, where travellers would eat under the oak trees, with their beer kept cool in the Lia river. A legendary part of Veneto and Treviso tradition with its inimitable river prawns, guests have included Indira Gandhi, Christian Barnard and Toti Dal Monte. Promoting culture with the ‘Premio Gambrinus Giuseppe Mazzotti’ award, in 2003 the old inn was reopened in the park, next to the restaurant, with six beautiful rooms and suites. Second and third generation, with a chef of superb artistic creativity.
