Royal Victoria Hotel

Dal 1050

The oldest part of this hotel in Pisa takes us all the way back to 1050, and its origins are lost in the mists of time. It was in this extraordinary city that Pasquale Piegaja decided to open a hotel that would meet the highest international standards. The first Congress of Italian Scientists was held here in 1839, and already in the first half of the nineteenth century the old inn was transformed into a modern grand hotel. Since then the rooms of the Royal Victoria have welcomed the most sophisticated European and American intellectuals, from Roosevelt to Puccini, Zola to Pirandello. Some rooms are still located in a tenth-century tower, while the furnishings and windows tell us the story of the Art Nouveau Liberty style. The hotel is cared for by the sixth generation of the same family, whose passion remains undiminished.
