The history of Cremona, and of its culture and people is here. Purveyors to the Royal House of Savoy, Queen Margherita in 1921 and Prince Umberto in 1927, and a haven for the illustrious, such as the painter Carlo Vittori, it has the oldest retail licence in the province. Creator of the famous Enea Sperlari-brand torrone and mostarda, the shop is a nineteenth-century gem, with furniture “put back into shape” in about 1890 by the famous cabinet-maker Guastalli. Renovation in 2011 uncovered late-eighteenth-century ceiling frescoes. Inimitable Gran Mandorla tarts, torrone mandorlato, quince jam, mostarda and mustard-preserves. Third generation.
