A monument to pizza and Neapolitan recipes, it is now run
by the fourth generation since it was set up by Don Umberto.
Its lovely Thirties room, where mathematician Renato Caccioppoli,
Bakunin’s grandson, used to gather together the finest minds
in the mathematics institute of Naples, such as Cafiero, Greco
and Stampacchia. Japanese emperor Akio Hito, Kennedy and
Anthony Quinn all enjoyed its delights. It is the headquarters
of the Umberto cultural and historic gourmet association for
Neapolitan culture and cuisine.
